It can also be used as a base for artificial lawns. One of the unique properties of crusher dust is that it is very stable when compacted, yet still allows for great drainage.

Applications: Rail ballast can be used for bearing load of railroad ties, drainage, vegetation resistance.

Byproduct: Crush rock aggregates

Track ballast forms the trackbed upon which railroad ties (sleepers) are laid. It is packed between, below, and around the ties. It is used to bear the load from the railroad ties, to facilitate drainage of water, and also to keep down vegetation that might interfere with the track structure.

Recycled concrete has several useful applications similar to rock or bases such as erosion protection and drainage. However, recycled concrete has several applications which are unique to itself such as paving for outdoor hard surfaces, base for new paving projects, bed foundation for underground trenches, as well as aggregate for mixing new concrete.
